The Long Island Church of Christ adheres to a Bible-centered approach in its teachings and practices. The church emphasizes a commitment to speaking in accordance with biblical principles and maintaining silence where the scriptures do not explicitly guide. In this community, the Bible serves as the sole source of guidance, with no reliance on additional man-made creeds or instructions.

Guided by three hermeneutical principles derived from scripture, the church's doctrinal beliefs are rooted in following commands issued in the Bible, emulating examples set by Jesus, the Apostles, and early Christians, and drawing necessary inferences from the text.
